In terms of box office performance, 'Gadar 2' has been met with an exceptional response from moviegoers. The action-packed film earned an impressive Rs 40.10 crore on its opening Friday, followed by around Rs 43 crore on Saturday, and an estimated Rs 48 crore on its first Sunday. This brings the estimated total earnings of 'Gadar 2' to approximately Rs 131.10 crore up to this point. On Saturday, the film boasted an overall occupancy rate of 65.40% for its Hindi showings, as reported by the trade portal Sacnilk.
With its first-day collection of Rs 40.10 crore, 'Gadar 2'
has entered the league of Bollywood's highest opening day earners, alongside
Shah Rukh Khan's latest film 'Pathaan' (Rs 57 crore), Yash and Sanjay
Dutt-starrer 'KGF: Chapter 2' (Rs 53.93 crore), and the Hrithik Roshan and
Tiger Shroff-starrer 'War' (Rs 53.35 crore).
On the other hand, 'OMG 2', featuring Akshay Kumar, has
crossed the Rs 40 crore mark within its initial three days of release. The
satirical comedy, interwoven with elements of sex education, achieved Rs 10.26
crore on its opening Friday, followed by approximately Rs 14.50 crore on
Saturday, and an estimated Rs 18 crore on its first Sunday. As of August 13,
the film's total earnings have reached Rs 42.76 crore. During its Saturday showings,
'OMG 2' held an overall occupancy rate of 57.91% for its Hindi presentations.
Both films witnessed robust advance bookings as of early
Sunday morning. By that time, 'Gadar 2' had sold a total of 11,50,897 tickets,
while 'OMG 2' sold 3,14,200 tickets on the same day. The films have garnered
positive reviews from critics and audiences alike.
Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh bestowed
'Gadar 2' with a four-and-a-half star rating and labeled it a 'blockbuster'.
Adarsh shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the film offers
"old-school desi entertainment at its best" and praised its patriotic
essence and memorable impact that is likely to make it a "tremendous
money-spinner". He lauded the performances of Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel,
and Utkarsh Sharma in the film. Adarsh also commended the performance of Manish
Wadhwa, noting that his exuberance suits the genre of the film.

Meanwhile, film critic and trade analyst Sumit Kadel awarded
four stars to the Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi-starrer 'OMG 2'. Kadel
hailed the film as ground-breaking for addressing the sensitive topic of sex
education "with utmost maturity without compromising entertainment".
Kadel also praised the performances delivered by Akshay
Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam in their respective roles. He
highlighted Akshay Kumar's exceptional portrayal of Shiv Ka Das, terming him
the heart and strength of the film, despite having a limited but impactful
role. He also acknowledged Pankaj Tripathi's stellar acting and Yami Gautam's
standout performance.
